We have had an eventful 8 months so far in our mission. I am sorry I haven't continued with my "mission letter". Everything just got so busy for us and I haven't taken the time needed to compose one. Believe me though you have been in our hearts and thoughts all the time. We may be a few thousand miles away but you are with us on this exciting journey. Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, love, friendship etc., etc. all along the way. We truly feel it! |

There have been earthquakes, volcano eruptions, the beginning of a coup in this country, and much much more to add to our exciting time here! However, there have been many, many more life-changing events to strengthen our faith, testimony of our Savior and His work here on the earth than we could ever have imagined. |

For those of you who remember us talking about Brother Sanchez, he has had one operation since we have been here. He is supposed to have 9 more, but the doctor actually closed the wound this time so he doesn't have to clean it out twice a day. He is now looking for work (uses the wheelchair and crutches still and will do so for a long time perhaps forever). Brother Sanchez has great faith and looks on the bright side of things. |

Going to the temple 5 days a week never loses its luster. We are amazed at how much we learn each time we are there. The "obreros" (workers) really love the missionaries and we feel that love so strongly with their "abrazos fuertes" (strong hugs) and sweet endearments they call us. Actually they call everyone these endearments, but it feels really special to me (Janeen). They may say "princesa, amorcita, dulce, belleza, amor, mi corazon, and many more. |

The church
has been inEcuador for 45 years now and there was a beautiful program put on where they honored the first ones who became members and have stayed faithful all these years. It was an inspiring program with slideshow, music, dance and talks. |
